Pillow making project. So far I have made one that weighs 2.8 oz. Made of polyester mesh, holding up well after testing for 3 months, sleeping on it everyday. Size: 15″ x 11″
This is the bag I stuff different materials in:
Materials for the the lightest so far are baloons and polyester stuffing from Walmart.

The one that weighs 4.3 ounce is stuffed with little air bags and bubble wrap used for packing material when shipping boxes etc. also wraped with polyester stuffing. :

I stuffed one with a repurposed down filled jacket. It weighed 1 pound four ounces:

I stuffed one with a thrift store “neck pillow”
I stuffed a larger polyester “Gain” bag with a thrift store throw pillow:
For 3 months I slept on the 4.3 ounce pillow and the polyester bag (Gain) held up very well. The polyester is warm feeling to my face and the zipper had no ill effect on sleeping comfort. I’m a side sleeper and found the pillow easy to manuver under my head when shifting from one side to the other. The sewn seams on the bag are holding up well.
The bags are not expensive and can easily be found at Dollar General stores:

.

Go out and get a few Gain bags and start stuffing and then come back and talk Pillows
Eureka! got one that weighs 2.25 oz.
Can you blow up some empty platypus bags and sleep on that inside the Gain bag?
4.3 oz is not too far from toddler pillow territory
