Hi All,
I’m heading up to Lost Coast this weekend. We’ve been surprised by the cost of the commercial shuttle services and wondering if anyone has alternative suggestions or is willing and able to offer transport from the southern terminus at Black Sands Beach Trailhead up to Mattole sometime this Sunday 3/31. Our party size is 3.
Thank you!
Ben, Will, and Shahand.
Mar 27, 2019 at 8:10 pm #3585791what commercial service and how much does it cost?

$85 per person. Seems high, especially compared to cost of shuttling on High Sierra Trail.
Mar 27, 2019 at 8:33 pm #3585793Suck it up and pay it. It’s quite the drive from anywhere. If you already have the arrangements made. I use to live in Fortuna and would shuttle on occasion. Price is pretty fair. It is BFE not like the Sierra with easy highway access.

Mar 27, 2019 at 10:24 pm #3585816So that shuttle driver lives in Shelter Cove. Pays the highest price for fuel in the lower 48. It is a terrible road that he will spend at least half a day driving back and forth on in good weather. The BLM gets a cut of the price too.
Mar 27, 2019 at 11:46 pm #3585833BFE: can you BE more obscure? (deliberate emphasis on the wrong word.) But maybe ken used an obscure abbreviation to underscore the similar obscurity of the destination; in which case this is an example of formal literary brilliance! Poetry.
Nah.
We’re not all internet hipsters here. Jerry is, but look at that do-rag. Beatnik in the wild.
