I have been prototyping a new windscreen for the Petrel G2/G3 heat exchange mug. The MSR Pocket Rocket Deluxe is not compatible to work directly with the Petrel G2/G3 as the pot support arms are not aligned radially. The default stove will work as is: the pot support arms do need to be aligned horizontally. This windscreen allows the stove to adapt to the mug while maintaining the correct burner to pot spacing. Wind tunnel performance has been outstanding.

This is a unique design, and I would like to get actual user feedback prior to its full release: In particular, the useability and ergonomics. This is an ALPHA level design: the basic design is probably 90% firm, but there is no dedicated assembly tooling, so it is completely formed by hand. Here is the deal, send me a PM and I will send you an invoice for $20 and send you the windscreen. Test the windscreen and reply with a detailed Pro’s and Con’s list. I will then refund your $20 and you are free to keep the windscreen. When the production model is launched, you will receive that version as well (if you wish). I would like to capture both G2 and G3 users (domestic users only for now).
The windscreen is a single piece construction with no assembly required. It will nest inside the Petrel mugs with room to store the stove as well as other items. It weighs 31 grams and is made of stainless steel. When windy, the windscreen needs to be oriented towards the wind.
