Sorry folks, there’s something wonky with the BPL server. I only posted this once.

I saw one of these at a SoCal group hang, or something very similar. It nested nicely in one of the MSR stainless steel stowaway pots. It’s size allowed for a good sized fire but the sticks had to be small. We don’t get to use wood fires too often in California wilds so I would consider it a car camping / campsite kit around here.

David,

I bought one of these to try out yrears ago.  I think that it was from overseas and probably around $12.  Do you want to try it out? PM me – Jon

I bought a similar one last year. It was good for two people because it fit in my larger pot but, I ended up buying a collapsible titanium one that folds down to almost a postcard size and have been using it instead ever since. I think I paid around $25-$30 for it on Amazon. The only drawback is that your hands can get pretty messy breaking it down…

David,

That looks like a to of bulk and weight. But at $28. you really can’t go far wrong if you want to try it. With its double wall combustion chamber it looks as though it is a gassifier wood stove.

I have a Trail Designs titanium Sidewinder (Caldera Cone) stove that I normally use with ESBIT fuel tablets.

But I also bought the optional Inferno insert to make it a gassifier style wood burner like the Canadian made Bush Buddy, only more efficient. Gassifier stoves recirculate unburned gasses from the initial combustion and these gasses burn as they re-enter the combustion area making for a very hot fire as is evidenced by the white wood ash.

I was thinking of this more from a car-camping or prepper/survivalist perspective.
