A desert ramble with fellow BPLers Mike M. and Doug I.

That combo can more than compensate for a lot of discomfort and other adversity. I have no doubt that was the case here. In spades.
Apr 9, 2019 at 3:17 am #3587812Awesome. I miss the old crew here but just have next to zero interest in gear anymore so rarely check in. Great to swing in and see stuff like this. Hope all is well. Cheers.
Apr 9, 2019 at 3:24 am #3587815I hear you on gear. Good to see you around again Brendan. Hope all’s good with you and family.
If you want to get together for a trip somewhere in the Southwest…..
Apr 9, 2019 at 4:30 am #3587822Come on over to chaff Brendan! We rarely, if ever, talk gear over there, just muse about, well, about most anything that’s not very backpacking related. Agree with Craig, glad to see you around again.
Apr 9, 2019 at 12:22 pm #3587853Looked like a great trip with some good adversity. What is that Doug is carrying on his back? I hope it was filled with helium balloons.
Yes, good to see Brendan check in here!
Apr 9, 2019 at 1:44 pm #3587860Doug’s large pack was in fact filled with smoked meats, fine scotch, and Spanish doubloons (he prefers them to a mattress). Â And he kept up with us just fine.
Apr 9, 2019 at 2:00 pm #3587865Well that makes sense, I suspect that you all kept up with him hoping he would share!
Apr 9, 2019 at 2:47 pm #3587880Great report. I need to get back out to the desert for sure.
Apr 14, 2019 at 8:39 pm #3588775I’m new to BPL. It’s so refreshing to see trip reports without selfies or gear reviews á la instagram. Thanks for that. Also really enjoy your ceramic and other arts on the blog. I think we’d be friends.
