David, You’ll definitely be missed!!
Feb 13, 2018 at 5:41 am #3518151A nice size crowd for this year. Can hardly believe it is finally this week. Lots of new attendees. Look for the cottage gear to spot your brethren on the trail.
Any questions? Don’t wait till Friday to ask one.
Feb 13, 2018 at 6:17 am #3518154Hey everyone, I just found out about this. I’ll try to make it. – Lucky Charms
Feb 13, 2018 at 1:00 pm #3518162Have a great time everyone! I’m looking forward to seeing photos and hearing about it.
Feb 13, 2018 at 9:43 pm #3518238Marc Eldridge is coming too. It’s like having the whole family together.
See you Josh.
Feb 14, 2018 at 7:21 pm #3518368You guys please keep me in your prayers. I got a bad case of the flu starting on Monday. I left work early and went straight home and to bed, but two days later, I’m only feeling worse.
I’m still hoping to come, but, ugh, I can’t go like this. I need to get better.

Feb 14, 2018 at 7:31 pm #3518371Crud. Take care of yourself Jim.
Feb 14, 2018 at 8:05 pm #3518381Jim,
Sorry that we won’t see you there….you definitely will be missed with your “pile” of stoves on the table as you hold “court” passing along all of your wisdom.
Get better….sucks to be miserably sick like that.

Feb 14, 2018 at 9:17 pm #3518391Sorry to hear that, Jim! A colleague of mine got Tamiflu for his, said it really knocked it out; you might try getting some from your doc.
Feb 14, 2018 at 10:13 pm #3518403Jim so sorry to hear you’re feeling so bad. The flu usually hits worse 2-3 days after you first feel it. Rest up and feel better soon. Will send some flu buster tips I hope will help.
Feb 15, 2018 at 12:19 am #3518434Ken T. I sent e-mails to Kevin and Jack, Jack’s was returned. Then sent a snail mail letter to Kevin at an address that was good some years ago but no answer after 10 days or so. I tried. Would have enjoyed catching up with them at the GGG X.
Feb 15, 2018 at 12:42 am #3518441Honored to be recuperating with Hikin’ Jim and bummed to miss it this year. Was so excited! You guys have fun and take lots of pics 😊
Feb 15, 2018 at 1:10 am #3518454Loaded the oak in the wagon. Packing has officially started.
Feb 15, 2018 at 2:17 am #3518462Making a pile here at home and it’s getting bigger and bigger. I am tempted to only bring a few snacks and teas and eat everyone else’s food :)
take care Jim.
Feb 15, 2018 at 2:47 am #3518465Jim,
Don’t hesitate to seek medical help. There are to many stories of kids and old guys not making it through the night.
Take Care.
Feb 15, 2018 at 3:49 am #3518477That strategy has worked Kat.

Heading into Tenaya Canyon in September of 2017.Feb 15, 2018 at 9:13 pm #3518626Casey, Emily and family, sorry you can’t make it this year. I have really enjoyed reading about your family trips. Did you do a report on 2017’s trips?? I have used your trip itineraries for trips with my own grandchildren AND for trips with my older backpacking friends. The trip a couple of years ago in Desolation Wilderness was inspiring. Mei Mei and PJ are such good hikers!
