I received an email from DeLorme (I own an InReach) that it has been acquired by Garmin. Here’s a press release:

I am curious what this means long-term for InReach users. Will mapping capabilities be improved? Will the InReach get a built-in topo map? I’m hoping that prices won’t increase, but with the acquisition, it would seem competition in the GPS market has been greatly reduced
