How is it? Any good? Nasty? Chewy? Does it rehydrate quickly? Like fresh chicken? Or does it end up like rubber?

I buy Mountain House FD chicken in their #10 tins, and then repackage it into vacuum sealed bags (0.7 oz portions). I do it about this time of the year, when humidity is usually very low here in Colorado. I store it in my cool, dry basement, and it has a shelf life of 3-5 years. When rehydrated, it tastes and chews just like regular chicken breast, but in dice-size pieces.
I like the MH Chicken Korma. Only a mild curry, but tasty. The bits of chicken are fine.
<p style=”text-align: left;”>I recommend Thrive organic chicken. They are not cubed but striped. I have not had any other kind so can’t compare. I have used them in ramen, couscous and curry.</p>
BTW, it is pretty easy to dehydrate Costco Canned Chicken. IMO it re-hydrates very well. My 2 cents.
Thats what im gonna do. Just picked up a 6 pack of canned chicken from costco.. will dehydrate it myself.
About how long to dehydrate it??
Normal directions call for 145 F for 8 hours. That being siad, most people shred their chicken into smaller bites. I leave mine into a big of pieces as possible as it seems more like real food to me (I like big chunks and I can not lie). I usually check it after 12 hours,: the internet says “When dry, a 12.5 ounce can yields a little less than a cup and will weigh 1.5 to 2 ounces.” It takes longe to re-hydrate, but I am in no hurry. My 2 cents.

God how I love a random Sir Mix-a-Lot reference! You other brothers can’t deny…
And it tastes so good there’s “ little bitty waist”
I’m hooked, and I can’t stop staring.
