Companion forum thread to: Fatbiking Iceland’s Volcanoes

My intention was to link the most active volcanoes of the island. I would travel 410 miles on my fat bike, carrying all of my own food and gear, combining mountaineering and fat biking in the traverse.

Excellent video. Great trip. Thank you.

To better balance your bike you need front panniers on a front rack, naturally. The extra space is nice for light but bulky items like sleeping bags and down parkas.

BTW, my idea of “fat biking” is a mid drive electric bike W/ fat tires like the Quiet Cat B/C I’m an old guy and want an electric assist to my pedaling.
