Greta is a Bernese Mountain Dog, so here she is in her element:

Like all dogs she is a opportunist. Here we were sitting in the warm sun relaxing an evening on the same trip. I thought I should take a photo of us sitting there, but she spotted me off guard and went to action immediately:

Car ride home after a good hike … bear in mind they might look cute but they both smell to high heaven and left the back seat ridiculously dirty. I now strategically borrow my wife’s car on hike day.
That pic is so cute it’s making my teeth hurt… :-)

Haha. Yes! Sierra (the dog) loves her car hammock. Daniel (the monster/boy) hates the hammock, ย even when half deployed. We do what’s constitutes a compromise for a 12 year old … we completely remove the hammock and I buy him ice-cream.
