Does a top with these features exist?

Top for backpacking daytime warm/hot weather:

150-ish gms, wool, 1/2 zip (1/4 ok), thumbholes, collared. I’m older and need sun protection at altitude and I like the way thumb-holed covers the back of my hands (prefer it to sunscreen).

I can’t seem to find this combination of features. I currently use an REI product that is perfect except that it’s polyester; thought I’d try wool if it’s possible.

Thanks!

.Wool fabric is measured by weight in grams per square metre (gsm) of the fabric. I wasn’t sure if your second post was asking what gsm meant so that is why I am posting this answer

do you want a hood also for more coverage?

I wouldn’t use a hood. I’m thinking of pretty hot sierra days. Thanks

I think the hood makes sense for sun protection like Michael E says

I’ve never considered a hoody for shade because I’ve been rocking the old-guy-in-a-tilley-hat look, which if I’m honest, could explain why my wife doesn’t backpack with me.

I think I’ll give this Tropic Comfort a go.
