    I think it’s better in some ways – more quick keys to get what you want to get to faster is one, and worse in some – the mounting spine clip absolutely sucks IMO, almost impossible for me to clip to anything unless I want to use their carabiner, which I don’t.

    Because of “the barbs” on the end, or something else?

    I did some serious grinding on my older SE to get the clip functional.

    It’s a completely different clip than what was on the Delorme,  has much, much less give so you really need a lot of pressure, and two hands, to try an open it a bit if you wanted to slide it over a side compression strap or such. And even then you’d have to put one of your hands under the strap, one over, so you could slide the clip, while trying to hold it open, over the strap. I’ll show you at the GGG. I wish someone would make a ‘jacket’ of sorts for it.

    Andrew Skurka reproduced the lock failure relatively easily in this recent YouTube video:

    You can clearly hear the lock click closed before each of his tests.

    Skurka thinks Garmin “should remedy this situation.”
