Report / Notes
Rain Rain and more rain washed our plans away for a nice overnight backpacking trip we had planned. I would have still went, but my wife is NOT a backpacker or camper and I was not going to drag her along in soggy cold weather.. I would rather bring her out when she would be comfortable and possibly enjoy the experience.  So we settled on a short day hike. Mt. Tammany,  in the Delaware Water Gap. We always drive thru the gap and it is beautiful area. I have hiked thru here plenty of times, even kayaked thru, but she has never. She always comments as we drive thru.. “Why cant we come here and do a day hike?”… So I decided this would be a consolation hike since the rain washed our overnighter away, we had 1 day of decent weather.. make the best of it and hike Mt. Tammany..

It was very short.. and there was a few other people, we started early to beat the crowds.. this area gets crazy crowded..  here it is.. in 3 minutes 16 seconds…

I’m glad you were able to get out on Monday – the rest of the weekend was pretty miserable here in PA.  I had a backpacking trip scheduled along the Mid State Trail in central PA Friday –> Sunday and we cancelled it.  Since we’d all had a couple of other spring trips already, none of us wanted to spend three days hiking in rain with the temperatures in the mid-40’s.  We’ll save that section of the MST for another time.

@Kevin.. yeah I dont blame you for canceling.  It wasnt like it was just going to rain for 2 or 3 days.. it poured constant heavy rain and the temps were in the 40s for a solid 3 days!! Totally kaboshed a lot of plans!!
