Born and raised in Arkansas, and spent my childhood riding, in my parent’s car, through the Ouachitas and Ozarks  – the places where I mainly hike today. After my first solo trip, where I found myself in a dangerous situation because of my heavy pack and gear, I began the process of lightening my load and making do with less, a process that I’m still undergoing today. I’ve recently completed the 223 mile Ouachita Trail and 104 miles of the Ozark Highlands trail.
