I’d like to know more about the pros and cons of a liquid state based moisture dealing system vs a vapor state one. What I mean by liquid state for example would be Polartec Power Stretch Pro tights and hoody on a base layer (I suppose a synthetic hydrophilic -polyester/polypro- base layer would be the better option); everything super skin tight, vs a loose fleece top (and bottom maybe?) on a base layer (I suppose merino would be better in a vapor state system). I know that the typical UL system is a vapor state one (base layer + fleece), but it also needs a wind jacket and a hardshell to work in all conditions and thus loses its breathability under dire conditions, whereas a liquid state one would work under wind (powerstretch pro as a semi wind resistant hard face) and rain (it already works in a wet state, and dries quickly after the effort, being so wicking, thus protecting the wearer from hypothermia).
