Yeah. I chose silnylon over cuben. Due to the shelter is intended as my hotel room every night as i travel the world. The nylon absorbs some of the swamp factor inside the tent and creates two separate environments; one inside the tent and one outside. It feels more like sleeping inside then cowboy camping.

It couldn’t have a slopped ridge because I need more space inside the tent for condensation to cloud up and collect on the tarp. It also couldn’t have too many poles. It needed to weigh 1 pound, but also give a lot of protection from the elements; rain, mud, wind, cold, bugs, and animals. Its 7’x40″. Silnylon also doesn’t stay as wet as polycro materials, but doesn’t breath too much like cuben and tyvek.

Im planning on visiting places like Iceland, Ibiza and the Sahara; Mexico, Brazil, Argentina. Anywhere.

I made a free map of places to go http://www.pointlesstraveler.com/map.html

I hope that answers it. I experimented with different tarps and found the more condensation there was the more comfortable I slept. So that caused me to turn away fron highly breathable materials amd use nylon.

Doors look like they might be vulnerable to leaks in a prolonged rain storm.  I suggest you test it at home before exposing yourself to the elements on the trail.

Did you choose black for quicker drying (thinking of a MLD like Super-sized-Serenity with a black sil floor for that reason) or something else?

Yeah! Oh course I chose black because it will dry in the morning. I wanted the comfort of nylon since it will be used for several nights.

however, the mld serenity looks too much like the bear paw minimalist
