I’m obligated to re-share the excellent video from Tarptent on condensation!

    Good backpacking101 advice, and accurate.

Interestingly, after watching it, another YouTube video on that same topic was recommended, by some joker named Oscar Hikes. It had 161k views and he has over 80k subscribers. I started to watch it, but about half of what he said was complete misinformation. Pretty frustrating, but it reminded me why I almost never watch YouTube videos, and totally avoid influencers. People would be better off using their brains, and some trial and error.

“People would be better off using their brains,”

Or just pick more competent YouTubers and influencers! That’s social media in a nutshell isn’t it, even on BPL, you ask for advice from strangers and have to select which of those strangers has useful, reliable, or authoritative information to share, and which really don’t. It’s getting murkier every day, as we disregard real experts in favor of rank amateurs in all realms of our lives. You still get trial and error; you find out on trail if their method of doing whatever actually works!
