Here is yet another MYOG Pot Lid. I thought this way worked pretty well and is stronger because of the conical shape. I can press down firmly on the top of the lid and it doesn’t deform which means I can secure with a strong rubberband and compress inside my pack. Best of all, I can now fit an 8 oz gas can in my Evernew 1300 pot when I couldn’t before. This lid is 0.28 oz, whereas the original titanium lid was 1.55 oz, so shave an ounce and a quarter of weight.
To make one, start with a pie pan and cut out the middle section.

Trace a circle around your existing pot lid but a ~3/16″ larger radius. Trace out lines to cut and fold for the cone shape.

Make the center cut & drill a 1/4″ hole. Use tape to test fit the lid (since it’s a cone you can resize just by making the cone taller or shorter without recutting anything).

Use some pliers to fold back the lap joint

Make a little pot handle out of just the sheath of some paracord. Cut and melt the ends. It’s easier to put this in place before you crimp the lap joint.

Now crimp down the lap joint. Some vice grip clamps work really well for this as they smoothly flatten down the aluminum layers into a single layer (and it sure is satisfying).

Now the pot can hold a big gas can and Kovea spider stove

Whereas the old lid just couldn’t quite make it.
