“This is a totally “ok boomer” thread.”

Are us boomers the last folks standing at BPL?

I wonder what the average age is here these days…I’m feeling pretty young at 43.

I can’t imagine many <millenials would pay to post or read on the net.  Not the best business model to grab that demographic.

Gear swap on Reddit is free and seems busy.  Everything changes but some things here.

As far as clown shoes go I wear a size 15. Most think they are clown shoes :(

I’m 55 but in my head I’m about 28. Too bad the body doesn’t agree.

I wonder who the oldest reader on BPL is today? And do they still go backpacking?

Quote from Little Feat: Old Folks Boogie-

“And you know that you’re over the hill , When your mind makes a promise that your body can’t fill”

Sums it up!

I’m 74 and still going……I didn’t say strong but I’m still going.
I think Eric is a bit older than me.
Got a couple of trips planned this Summer.
Hike on Isle Royale NP in early June.
July Trip out west that’s not set in stone yet but Colorado for sure
and most likely the Winds. The rest of the summer will be fill-in Canoe
day trips and possibly a fall trip to the Boundary Waters.

63 and still planning trips like I was in my 40’s.  While not as fast as I used to be, so far I haven’t made any promises that my body can’t fill.

I think Tom K. is probably the most “polished stone” here

All of my LaSportiva Akasha’s are on the garish side, but the Irish have always been a little garish :)

Somehow at moments like this, shoe color doesn’t seem to matter much.

Since this thread has detoured a couple of directions from the OP…

I like to have all different colors with my gear as it is easier to find what I’m looking for when digging in my pack. I still have too many black items. They all look the same in my pack.

As for age, a couple of years ago I took my teenaged son to see Will Rietveld talk about ultralight practices. Of the approximately 30 attendees, my son was the only one without gray hair. And we live in a college town!
