Cloth tape to cover backpack shoulder straps?

The shoulder straps on my pack weren’t comfortable so I added a layer of foam and wrapped them in duct tape. Can anyone suggest a cloth tape to put over the top of that? I’d like to find an inexpensive product that has strong adhesive, less clammy than duct tape, and possibly multicolored so I can get some attractive stripes going.

This works fine for now so I don’t want to splurge much on the tape.

I considered $3M vetrap, like an an ace bandage for dogs I guess, because it’s cheap enough to buy 3-4 colors. But it only sticks to itself and I assume it would start to peel and annoy the hell out of me.

You could make a tube of 3D mesh.  Probably require sewing though.  Then slide it over the strap.

Maybe have to sew through 3D mesh/shoulder strap to keep it from sliding around.

Leukotape is sticky and long-lasting (many days on one’s feet).  The outer surface is pretty cloth-like.  $7-8 a roll on Amazon, etc.  Also super handy for blisters and as a first-aid tape.  And general repairs.  Wrap some around your trekking pole, water bottle or chapstick tube to keep a foot or two of it handy.

I can’t think of a purpose for duct tape that Leukotape isn’t better at.  Except, you know, those white-trash costumes like a tuxedo made form duct-tape.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

<span style=”text-align: center;”>Jerry, I’ve thought a lot about sewing some scrap fabric on there, maybe even a little pocket while I’m at it. It would be free to try… you convinced me, I’ll give that a shot before spending</span><span style=”text-align: center;”> any money. </span>

That insignia cloth  tape looks perfect if I can find it cheap. I’d go with leukotape or some kind of medical tape but my reason for covering that silver duct tape is mostly asthetic (though it has nownow star to peel.) Colorful stripes would look nice but ruin my stralth, not sure I’ll follow through.
