72 inches long, who makes them? I usually use my hiking pole lashed together, but while snow camping I like to use my poles while on my snowshoes or campons. Sturdy enough for wet snow to pile up on the bottom overnight.

I use 0.625 inch aluminum poles like from http://www.questoutfitters.com/Tent_Poles_625.htm 8.5 oz
I cut the 26″ sections down a little with hacksaw
I often use the 0.433 inch ones that are lighter but most people would consider them too flimsy 4.7 oz
I’ve used a ruta locura adjustable pole all summer for my Ultamid 4 and it has been fantastic. Couldn’t be happier. Highly recommended.
I have a LuxuryLite Big Stik that I use for my SuperMid. (One extra segment gets it the right length.) Of course, that’s for less-demanding group hikes, when the Stik is my hiking stick as well.
Definitely not the lightest option, but I thought I’d include it for humor’s sake.
“The heavy 12 ounce brass ball top and two Texas Toothpicks makes this security staff your best friend when traveling. ”
That’s humorous on a lightweight backpacking site
Well, that’s one option, if it does it for you, Jerry… :) Those who are serious about “trail defense” carry one of these, though. That’s also long enough to be a 4P mid center pole, by the way. Personally I might favor this, since I don’t trust the joints on that last one, but I don’t think it’s long enough.
But seriously, the standard 50-inch carbon Stik is 8oz. You’d need the larger 65-inch Stik, which I have to assume tops 10oz, for something as big as a SuperMid, though. I don’t recall off the top of my head how much mine weighs, but it’s the older version, anyway. I do use it as the center pole for my SuperMid, just fine.
Rutalocura will make a custom pole. I have one that serves as hiking staff, tent pole, tenkara rod handle and Go Pro extension mount attachable to a SOS pack frame.
