I know it’s not light or backpacking but I would like to do some dispersed (unimproved) car camping in the redwoods of Northern California.
I’m having a hard time finding much info online.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

You would think there would be more/any opportunities for this there with all that undeveloped land. Problem is most belongs to timber companies. The State and Feds operate car camping campgrounds, but there not what you are looking for and the majority of them are only open from June through Sept. Of course October is the best month there. Wish I had better news fo you Dave. I will take you up on coffee when you are up this way.
