    Silicone Staking Connectors

Stretching easily over the ends of pipes, bamboo poles or any other rigid stake material from 1/4″ to 3/4″ in diameter, these connectors make it simple to construct your own plant frames and supports.

Made of 100% silicone, they hold snugly once positioned and will return to their original shape when removed. They are resistant to the effects of weather and UV rays, and can be reused year after year.

You could use one to create your own DPTE-type thing with a couple of short aluminum or carbon shafts.

    Doug,

“Thong” suggestion made me laugh out loud.  Thanks.

    What’s a DPTE?

Some things you just can’t unsee in your mind’s eye once pictured, no matter how hard you try…

Yes, I can’t unsee the thong and it makes me laugh again.

Daryl, DPTE is something Locus Gear makes so you can pitch a pyramid shelter with two trekking poles in an A-frame kinda thing.

I’ve never been able to unsee this Sean Connery pic… Looks like he used something similar…

    Doug,

You are on a roll.  Now I’m laughing at the Sean  Connery pic.  Those boots look like buckets waiting to collect god only knows what.  How could a movie recover from a costume like that?

Thanks for the DPTE info.  That does looks like a possible application.

How could an actor recover from a role like that……must have been from the late 60’s early 70’s – no one would be allowed to show so much body hair on screen now, he would be “manscaped” first.

How many superlatives can we use to describe that?

    Oh those 1970’s

Hmmm, well actually that isn’t half as bad as what got indelibly seared into my visual memory…

Picture you or Daryl, and equal parts the Sean Connery pic and equal parts Something About Mary… (“We got a bleeder!” and “Frank and Beans, Frank and Beans”).

Ghastly..horrifying even!  Now traumatized and ruined for life, thanks guys.

Seriously, could they be used for junctions to make an external frame for a pack?

    connecting poles for a tent?
