    SEARCH PROBLEM:

When I type in a search topic (ex. Tarptent Thread) instead of an arrow or finger cursor I get a vertical cursor and it WILL NOT activate a search. (I’m a Premier member, BTW so membership is not the issue.)

Yes, you have to hit the <Enter> key to activate the search.

REALLY?? Hit “ENTER” key to enable SEARCH?? And how in hell would I know that W/O someone here telling me?

Why not just ENABLE the magnifying glass icon like all other websites do?

But NOOOOO… that would be too easy.

    SHEESH!

Maybe, speaking as a life member, we could have a “BPL Operations Manual” to download so we can learn all the arcane functions of this site.

I’m not sure that it is a universally confusing thing, lets poll the audience

    Hmm… Eric it is common.

If you do a search in many programs such as an insert (picture or clip art in MS office), you have to hit the <Enter> or <Return> key to start the search. Some programs may have a “Go” or “Search” button that must be clicked. Fewer programs start searching as you enter data.

Amazon will start giving you suggestions (often departments) in a drop down box, but it won’t search until you hit <enter> or click on a suggested item from the drop down box. Same for eBay, Home Depot, Lowes, and most websites.

OK, OK, OK (as Joe Peche used to say)

Yes, I know about hitting “enter/return” for many functions on websites and may have even figured this one out eventually. The thing is WHY can’t the magnifying glass icon be enabled??

    Well…

This new software has many more serious problems than that ;)
