Broken links to Flickr images?

The pictures I embedded in this post appear to have broken links. They are static, public URLs as far as I know and appear to still exist in their original locations. I just added a new reply with a fresh picture embedded in the identical way and it appears fine.

Since I can’t go back and edit the post to see what’s going on, I don’t think there’s anything I can do on my end.

I can see the photos in your OP of that thread, i.e. 6 photos of your custom-made wood-burning stove.

Somehow my iPhone/Safari refuses to show them despite quits and restarts. Fine on a desktop PC. I guess the case is closed on your end. Cheers

Just a guess:  some browsers are set up to absolutely, positively, and with extreme prejudice, never show an “unsecure” (non-https) link.  It’s a stupid  thing to (not) do, IMNSHO, but it’s a thing.  Static content gets no exception; a simple static .jpg file is considered an evil scheme to take your credit card number and go buy a Porche.

Yeah, that seems to rule out my guess.

Seems like the most prominent advances in the “last few years” have made using these Internet pipes harder and harder.  </whine>
