Hi all. I’m trying to figure out what weight the BPL merino boxer briefs are. I know that the T-shirt, long sleeve shirt, and leggings are 115 (what’s that, 150 gm/sq. meter?). My boxer briefs seem to be ever-so-slightly thicker (it’s hard to really tell), but they seem pretty much like my Ibex and Icebreaker ones, which are 150. Can anyone confirm what weight the BPL briefs are (were)?

I don’t remember BPL briefs but if there were the BPL shop closed several years ago.
That number (150) should mean 150gm/sq meter.
Not to be confused with the S number on wool suits.
Thanks, Franco. Yes, the infamous Gear Shop closed in August of 2011.
Will knowing really change anything?
Ken, of course it will. 115 is quite a bit less robust than 150, don’t ya think? The truth is out there, but it seems like nobody really knows. Except for maybe Ryan…or Sam Haraldson.
Can’t buy new ones. I think you’d like,

OK I’ll leave you to it. Good luck in your research.
Aplogies.
IceBreaker has them in 150. They do have a Featherweight range in 120 but I don’t think they have briefs in that weight.
You guys are all missing my point here. To reiterate – what is the gm/sq. meter weight of the old BPL boxer briefs? Is it 115 like the rest of the BPL merino items, or could it actually be 150? I have several 150 items made by Ibex, Icebreaker, and Smartwool, and I want to know if these BPL boxers will compare with them in the field. They are actually an ounce heavier, but if I shorten the legs, maybe they’ll be a win…IF they are actually 150 weight, and therefore more robust than simple 115 weight boxers. Guess I should look somewhere else for the answers, huh?
Email Ryan
Thanks, Ken. I just e-mailed Ryan about it. Hopefully he will remember what the weight was – it’s been 10 years now.
Ryan did promptly respond to my question. The weight of the boxer brief is 145 gm/sq. meter. So there you have it, folks. Thanks, Ryan!
