Here is the deal; order the new Ocelot Fire Maple Polaris / GreenPeak windscreen before 12-20-24 and shipping will be free (Domestically). For International orders, you will be given a $7.50 rebate. These deals will be given after your order has shipped (on your order, add the comment “BPL Deal” to receive your discount).
We recently designed and tested the new Ocelot for the Fire Maple Polaris and GreenPeak windscreen. The results have been on par with the typical Ocelot family. However, when coupled with the Fire Maple Petrel HX mug (G3) the results are pretty spectacular (see the chart below).
Now, the reality is not everyone needs this kind of performance. The primary reason to use a windscreen is to make your stove operational. A plain BRS 3000t will not work above a 3-mph wind. The second reason to use a windscreen is to avoid bringing a larger or even a secondary fuel canister. So, if you need to stretch your fuel as far as possible, the Petrel-Polaris-Ocelot combo may be the ideal product for you.
I found that the JetBoil Stash was a fine fair weather stove. I was average if 5.0 grams on an 500 ml boil as well. Above a 4-mph wind though, performance fell off a cliff.
Over 50 days on it, never averaged over 6g on any trip. PRD handles wind just fine in the Stash pot. Built a 10g windscreen and almost never need it but it works when I do
Happy Black Friday! Well, Amazon and Walmart don’t carry the Ocelot Polaris windscreen, but you can get them here. BPL Members get free shipping (Domestic) and $7.50 off (International). This offer is good until 12-20. Just add the comment “BPL Special” into your order and you will be credited after your order ships.
