I’m thinking about a summer weight sleeping bag and wondering if I can/ should try get by with a combo of items I already own.
The bivy is a TiGoat Raven omni-bivy, unfortunately with no bug netting option so I have to pop my head out(using a headnet if needed.) I would <span style=”line-height: 1.8;”> pair it with a  basic 1 lb fleece blanket. </span>
<span style=”line-height: 1.8;”>Â The combo would end up weighing the same as the Marmot Nanowave 55 I’m eyeing, probably not as warm, but I’d like to hear what folks think. I also considered an Aegis max bag and I’m semi excited about either one of these sleeping bags, but don’t really want ITS excess. I would likely wear long baselayers and a beanie to sleep, maybe some nice warm socks to supplement.</span>
I already have a 30 degree quilt that I’d use if lows approached 50.
Will the bivy, which reviews say is not very breathable, make me get clammy? Will it provide any warmth? It’s at least a few years old, all black and not the most recent material.
T<span style=”line-height: 1.8;”>hanks in advance for opinions, I tried the search function with no success. </span>
