Or use trekking poles
You know RL poles weights?
Big Agnes Backpacking Tarp Poles (Adjustable from 33in to 45in) = 6.5oz
Perfect adjustable sizes for me, but too no lightweight :)
<span style=”color: #000304;”>4 Section .450 Tarp Pole</span><span style=”color: #000304;”>—The max length of the 4 section pole is 54″, the
minimum length is 40.5. A 54 Inch pole weighs 3oz, you can subtract .04oz per
Inch shorter than 54 Inches—$50</span>
If you ordered the 3-section .450 tarp pole plus the adjuster, this would weigh 3.2 ounces and give you a range of around 40.5-48.5″.
Jim, maybe need choose 3 section .450 Tarp Pole Length 37.5 inches + adjuster? For max length 45 inches. More 45″ no need. 45″ and less.
MYOG? To build 2 very stiff carbon fiber poles that would adjust from ~33″ to ~45″ order:
2 pcs of 13mm x 11mm x 1000mm – $37.76 (cut to length to achieve your min/max assembled pole height) http://www.ebay.com/itm/3k-Carbon-Fiber-Tube-Long-1m-OD-10mm-11-12mm-13-14mm-15mm-16mm-17-18mm-19mm-20mm-/131384136004?var=&hash=item644900018d
1 pc of 11mm x 8mm x 500mm – $13.66 (cut this in half, ~10″ each pc, for the adjustable shaft) http://www.ebay.com/itm/3k-Carbon-Fiber-Tube-10mm-11-12mm-13-14mm-15mm-16mm-17mm-18mm-19mm-20mm-1pc-8pc-/131408420468?var=&hash=item644afb58b9
2 pc BD 13mm FlickLock adjuster – $10.91
Total $62.33 for 2 adjustable poles vs. $96 for 2 – 40.5″ 3-section poles and 2 10″ adjusters from RL.
Thank you Hoosier.
