Just throwing this out there generally.

I’m a gal living in the East Bay with a fair amount of backpacking experience, and I get out fairly frequently with my partner and his son.

But I’d like to put  a group of women backpackers—or even just one or two—together to do some all-female (sorry, guys) weekend overnighters not too far away from the Bay Area.

Anyone interested?

Yes ! I live north of Davenport, south of Half Moon Bay. My husband is not into backpacking …

I’m in Cupertino, and I’m just getting into backpacking. My older daughter & her Girl Scout Troop wanted to go, so I looked into it and went on my first trip with the GS Backpacking Interest Group in Nov. My 2nd trip will be to the GGG in a couple of weeks with my daughters and another BIG trip in late Feb. My husband’s not interested in backpacking either, so it’ll be just me, my girls & our GS troop.

If you don’t mind joining Girl Scouts, I’m sure they’d love another experienced adult to help lead trips and teach us newbies what to do. :-)  They plan a trip (or two) almost every month, Oct-May, as well as a “miler” over the summer. Several are in the East Bay, so you’d get to meet fellow female backpacking enthusiasts. PM me if you’d like more details.

So are we all going to meet at the GGG and see what we can put together from there ?

I’m interested. I’ve been managing one or two family backpacks a year. There are a lot of interesting local trips that aren’t ideal for a kid that I’d like to try. I’m not a complete beginner but also far from an expert.
