On August 23 my friend Barney and I backpacked a extended variation of the JMT. Here’s a link to the photos, a short movie and a story of the trip:

We started the hike August 23ed at Pohono Tunnel. After hiking past Merced Lake and Vogelsang and exiting at Tuolumne, we then departed Yosemite over Parker Pass and scenic Koip Pass to join the JMT at Thousand Island Lake. Despite a minor injury and resulting change of plans, all the planning and gear lightening we did paid off really well. The systems and light weight gear we used worked nearly flawlessly. Thanks BPL for being such a wealth of information for researching LW gear and techniques!

Nice TR.  You guys did it right—focusing on the experience, rather than the end.

And despite you “limitations” on photography equipment, those are some darn nice photos!
