Hi there,

I’m looking for hiking pants to use in autumn and spring when it’s getting colder, that have side ventilation zippers and are lightweight. Unfortunately it’s a pain to search for this feature.

Does anyone maybe have some suggestions for me? If possible available in europe

Thanks a lot!

Rail Riders Eco Mesh pants fit the bill but I am not sure on European availability.

Some hiking pants from Fjällräven have side ventilation, but they’re not really lightweight…

I love side zip vents in pants.  Scandinavian clothes tend to have them…in addition to Fjallraven, Lundhags and Norrona have models with them…I think Hagloffs does to.  They are all expensive, however.

Kuiu makes several models that have zip vents and are lightweight that you can also get in solid colors.  The Tiburon is a very lightweight summer pant with vents..they are great.  The Attack pants are a little heavier soft-shell with side zip vents as well.  They are great as well, and although still expensive, they are not quite as expensive as some of the Scandinavian brands, if memory serves.

Check out Swedteam, they have some amazing lightweight ventilated trousers.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I already have the Montane Terra Pants and I think it’s one of the best out there.

However, it’s sometimes a bit too cold if temperatures drop and if there is a lot of wind (although I could just use my rain pants of course). The fit could be a bit better, so I was looking for other trousers with side vents.

I’m also looking for a good ski touring pant with side vents, but that’s a different story.
