I’m planning on hiking the lost coast trail on memorial day weekend. I have a friend who wants to join but he may or may not be as committed as me. I’d like to start either Thursday or Friday. I can hike fast (averaged 20+ on the JMT) but I can also slow it down. I think averaging ten miles a day would be a good pace. I like sports, gardening, bike riding, etc.. but I can talk about anything! Age doesn’t matter to me.  If it’s something you’re thinking of doing, maybe we can split rides/shuttle/etc. I contacted two places and posted craigslists ads looking for rides.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but be flexible where you think you will camp. It can be crazy busy that weekend. Once my partner and I had to press on 5 additional miles and had to shoehorn ourselves into two separate occupied camp spots. Have a great time.
Ahh, is it that busy? Maybe I want to do it another time.
I would skip going on Memorial Day, Reggae Rising, July 4th, and Labor Day Weekends. I lived in Humboldt County for 10 years and these weekends have been busy out there. If you stay up on the ridge trails during those weekends you will have it more to yourselves.
assuming I can get plane tickets reasonable (sub 500 from DC) I’d be down. Is there any red tape permit wise? Google says it’s a 28 mile trail. I’d be comfortable with a 2 day or 3 day since I’ll probably be camping on travel anyways.
