Really appreciate it if anyone has a Sierra Trading Post 20-35% coupon that works, either a public one or a one-time use one that you don’t plan on using. I used to get these regularly, but after not buying anything from them for several years I haven’t been receiving them.

Anyone have a good Sierra Trading Post 20-35% off Coupon, general or one-time?

@kenT Was you coupon one-time or general?
I’m in the same boat, several years bought from STP regularly, and received coupons, but no longer do.
It seems like they changed their coupon strategy significantly a few years ago (?) possibly more targeted at higher-purchase customers (?)Â I’m curious if anyone has any anecdotes; I’d like to figure out how to get back on the “20% off coupon list” …Â (I’m on the email list, but typically that only has ‘free shipping’ coupons).
Thanks!
I also was dropped off the daily “deal flyer” subscription, which was 25% off and free or $0.99 shipping since STP was acquired by the Marshall’s/T J Maxx group. I tried to “manage subscriptions” several times and add myself back in, and kept getting deleted. Finally I contacted customer service. The issue is return rate: STP tracks how much you purchase and how much you return. If your return rate is at or above 60% you will be dropped from the Deal Flyer mailing. And they do make it easy to return! If you get the right person in customer service you can find out what your return rate is. I was told my deal flyer subscription will be reinstated when my return rate is not so high. Good luck!
Bringing this up from a few months ago with an update that hopefully is helpful for others. Thanks Susan for sharing your experience – but that wasn’t the case here. Hope this is helpful to you and Tom and others.
After speaking with a customer service manager who knew what she was doing, I found out that when I requested to no longer receive the loads of paper catalogs STP would mail out, the rep accidentally put me on a do not contact list. All they had to do was uncheck a box in their CRM software and walla, I was receiving the deal emails and scored a great winter down jacket for the Ms.
I don’t purchase much from them, but when I do come across something, their deal coupons are very handy. I’ve heard they’re not as generous as they used to be after the Marshall’s/TJ Maxx acquisition, but don’t know if that’s true.
Susan I’m sure if you asked they’d add you back to their coupon list – after all they’re trying to make sales.
I got this response from a chat agent today:
“Currently, we are not able to provide any percentage off discount promotions. Our goal is to simplify your shopping experience and offer the best possible value every day. Yes, this means fewer discounts, but as we continue to pursue better buys on outdoor and active merchandise, our initial pricing will also improve.”
They said that if I resubscribed to the deal flier, I would only receive free shipping codes. Not sure if calling would yield a different result.
Boy, those 35% off coupons were a good deal on top of a good deal. For awhile they were constantly in my email. I eventually got signed up again for the deal flier, but they no longer send the %off offers. I am definitely purchasing less from STP. Thank you for your follow up. Happy Trails, Susan in Minneapolis.
For what it’s worth, their summer blowout sale is today! Probably to compete with Prime day on Amazon.
