Minor update –  nearly a year ago now, soon after my previous last post,  I found a busted and rusted SAK thrown in a bin and recovered it. Rather than replacing the blade and handle,  I disassembled it for the saw (joy!).  It was still in reasonable shape ( I destroyed the SAK removing it I am afraid).
the SAK saw is awesome. Very sharp and heavier gauge than a jigsaw blade. It makes a great tiny saw mounted in a tensioning tube ala knifepoint design.

Did you make the knifepoint-style saw? Post pictures!
