Condensation? Zero problems with the Duplex is the SE US. Is there sometimes some moisture on the underside of the canopy in the morning? Yes there is. Is it a problem? No it is not. A a quick wipe with a liteload towel and move along.
In fact, I much prefer dealing with condensation in a single wall than a double wall…it’s much more difficult to dry the underside of a rain fly.
Dec 4, 2016 at 5:15 pm #3438695Tent choices are all about the tradeoffs people feel are most important to them. Double wall stays marginally warmer and it is easier to avoid brushing against condensation. A larger tent is nice if you want to spread out, not so nice if you have high winds and need to place it in areas with minimal tent space. Stakes are fine if you have terrain that is suitable for them. Free standing has value on hard or very soft surfaces.
So there is no “best” solution. It is all about the intended use.
