Alternative 1.3L to Evernew

That is sad.  Mine is still going strong. Toaks pots get a lot of love here. They make an 1100 ml pot that you might find in stock.

I’ve got the Evernew 1.3L as well, however Toaks does make a 1300 ml (1.3L) pot – same weight as the Evernew, less money:

I may have an extra Evernew lid; I’ll check when I get home on Thursday

The one I have had the lid handle welds fail after only 1 years use. Any good lightweight same-capacity alternatives?

Have you tried sending Evernew a pic? I’d think they’d send you a replacement lid…

I’m a fan of the 130mm 0.9L Toaks. Holds a canister, windmaster tri-flex, folding spoon, hotlips and small knife.  I think you would be happy with the 1.3L  Toaks.

Yes, I agree on contacting Evernew with a photo. My Evernew 1.3L has been through everything for many years and still good as it was new. I had a Snow Peak 1400 crack after 17 years or more of serious use, with campfire and stove, on the vertical line where the volume markers are. Sent them a photo and they sent me a brand new 1400 that we use often.  Nowadays there are tons of choices in titanium cookware.

I’ve had the 1300 Toaks pot with a pan for a lid for many years. The handles on the pan prevent a tight fit, but it has held up well.

I’d contact Evernew. Many of these companies are very good about replacing equipment. They probably expect it. It may just be a fluke that got by quality control. They have to keep costs down somewhere and excellent customer service is cheaper then testing every lid. It also creates loyal customers.

With any luck, they’ll send me a new lid. Otherwise, Jon Fong-I may contact you to see if you have that extra lid, and take it off your hands. THANKS!

The support link for Evernew in Amazon points to a company called Evernew that sells womens clothing!  So, no luck there!

Sorry to hear about your problem… and surprised. I purchased mine in 2001.  It’s been used a lot, every group backpacking and camping trip I have taken, many BBQ/picnics in the park, sometimes at home when I needed a second small pot on the stove.  Still going strong.

I  do indeed have an extra lid: it is the older model with the grey silicone rubber.  I am a re-seller of Evernew gear, a while back, I receive a batch of pot with warped lids.  Evernew sent out a batch of replacement lids and I have a few left.  Pay for the shipping (First Class Mail) and it is yours (PM me your email address).  Also, if you have all of the pieces, I could probably spot weld the original handle back onto your lid.  Jon

I’ve been using the same Evernew 1.3L as my main pot since about 2008. I think it’s the oldest piece of gear in my kit. I wish I hadn’t opted for the non-stick (adds weight and doesn’t last) but the pot itself has done great.

Dan… non-stick is made with those toxic ‘forever chemicals’… when it degrades you are eating that stuff. Do your health a favor and trash it and get a new one without the toxic coating… or not… your choice, of course….

Well, it is a ceramic coating and not Teflon. Not sure if forever chemicals are used in ceramic coatings.

I specifically sought out the non coated Evernew 1.3 and found it at Trail Designs long ago. Mostly we have made tea and soups but plenty of times real Pot de Creme, real French chocolate pudding with cream, chocolate baking bar and eggs. The stove must be very low and one must whisk vigorously but we have never burned it.

We have several titanium pots but never went for a coating of any kind. Probably the best method is using the Snow Peak 1400 with the top nesting SP Trek titanium bowl as a double boiler setup. Nothing can burn with that and many things can be cooked.
