I don't know if you have the BRS-3000T but I am bringing mine up on Saturday and you can evaluate it.

If you mean the Camping Gaz canisters, I have a couple of the small ones. If you want them, I think I can ship them UPS Ground, right? You can have them, I'll even pay for shipping. But you might have to wait a few months, I've boxed most everything up and I'm not sure what box I put them in. Probably won't be unboxing until later this summer.

Yeah I have had it on my mind to come, but I have been trying to stay focused on studying.

But I need a break, so I am going to try to lighten up a bit this weekend and be sociable. And let's face it, I am a gear geek, what can I say? :)

I'm bringing my BRS-3000T also. My initial impression FWIW after using it on one trip is that it's a tiny, light, beast of a stove. Oh, and it boils water quick too.

I would be most obliged. I'm happy to pay shipping or whatever. Do you recall if they are the puncture type (CV206) or the valve type (CV270)?

I don't know one way or the other about UPS, but they can be sent USPS if you mark them "ORM-D Surface Only Consumer Commodity".

Jim, they are definitely the puncture type. I've had them for probably 15 years! I'll send the stove along with them.

I'll look forward to trying a few different sizes of pots on the BRS-3000T. It looks really small. I'm curious as to the stability. I'm sure it's fine with something like a 500 to 800 ml solo pot, but what if you're out with two people and you have a 1300 to 1500 ml pot? Will that fly? Or three with say a 2100 ml pot? Just curious whether it's a soloist's stove or what.

As usual, I'll have a flock of stoves with me. I'll try not to burn the place down. :)

Thanks for putting this on Don. While I regretted not being able to be there on Saturday and meet more people, I enjoyed my night with you guys on Friday. I suspect I would't have been able to get to know you in the same way if it were more crowded.
Good luck on the PCT, hope to see you again.

I'll be looking out for your stuff when it's available Peter, nice to have met you as well.

After being almost sure I would make it, things turned at the last minute. My wife's ukulele band got a last minute opportunity to play at David Arquette's wedding and she jumped on it. That left me and my daughters free to hang out and after being gone almost every weekend for a month now, there was no way I was going to take off again.

I hope there was a good turnout and that this will continue happening every year. Looking forward to the writeup.

Thanks to all who made it this year. The numbers were down from last year for reasons yet determined but as someone said, "it's California." Maybe that should be qualifed as Southern California. We discussed this a bit and there will be some changes for next year–probably changing the date to earlier in the year. The one advantage, as has been mentioned on other GGG posts is that it gives you time to visit with everyone. It was a nice change from last year when we had larger numbers.
The weather cooperated. A bit nippy in the evenings and mornings but the campfire warmed our souls. As a car camp Crystal Lake is pretty nice other than the car alarm that went off about 5 times.
Jon Fong (and his wife Peggy) from Flat Cat Gear came up on Saturday and treated us to some of their great dry baking creations plus showing all their products. Hikin' Jim provided stove entertainment and even managed to keep the flames down. Steve Bateman about blinded us while showing his collection of Zebra Lights. Peter Griffith showed off some gear he's is working on-stay tuned for further information from him on that. All I can say is that I was very impressed. Thanks to all for the demos.
I didn't get many pictures, maybe someone else has some shots to share.

Though I didn't show up til Saturday afternoon and missed many of you, I had a great time. See some of you next year.
