Just visited Borah Gear's website and noticed that they had the audacity to close up shop and are now hiking the Annapurna Circuit among other things. The nerve!

The good news is that there will be a 25% off sale coming up soon:

"We expect to return around the end of February/first week in March, and when we return there will be a 25% off everything sale for a few weeks, so please be patient and order with us when we get back, it will pay off! :) With the lead times being back to a week or so when we get back, it won't even be waiting that much longer."

I've been eying a bivy and tarp from them for awhile. Guess I'll have to pull the trigger when that sale comes up.

I got a Borah Gear Stealth Backpack here on the forums, and I absolutely love it. They earned my business through a second hand sale.

I thought it a little odd that they deleted their prices. Do you think that is because starting prices may be higher tomorrow? Of course they have the right to do as they wish.

That was my thought exactly about the price when I checked out there site.

I'm pretty sure that the owner posted (either on these forums or on his website, can't remember which) that he removed all the purchase buttons while they were on vacation to avoid any confusion, i.e. orders delayed or not responded to.

Borah Gear has a very good reputation within this community for quality, and beyond fair customer service.

No price raises :)

We removed the Paypal buttons while we were gone, and the prices were listed in the buttons. Everything is priced exactly the same as it was before we left for Nepal, and the 25% will be taken off those prices. Website should be taking orders again within a few hours.

John, I was wondering what type of down you use for the jackets and vest goose down or duck down?

Thanks!

Hi Michael,

The sale will end on Tuesday at 6am PST. Originally we were thinking of running it a bit longer(about a week), but had no idea we would get this kind of a response! We are well over 100 orders since we opened up about 8 hours ago, and we want to be able to keep the lead times reasonable. A week of sales at this pace would put us months behind!

Drat. Great sale but bad timing.

John West,

What an awesome response to your sale! I've had a Stealth pack, side-zip bivy, and down vest from you guys, all top notch. In fact your down vest is the one insulation piece I carry on every trip.

Wow this Borah gear is awesome! I hope y'all had a blast on your Nepalese excursion. Just snagged a down jacket.

I did miss that post from John. Editing out my comment above due to my own poor reading skills ;)

That was fast! The lead time was supposed to be 1-2 weeks, and it ended up being 4 days. Thanks for the great sale!

Chris
