The thread in the Philosophy & Technique forum got me thinking about some of my favorite campsites with a view, so I figured I'd start this thread for people to post photos of their favorites. I'll start with a few that I have handy.
Humphreys Basin
Sabrina Basin
Henry Coe
Big Sur
Little Five LakesFeb 6, 2015 at 5:10 pm #2172108Very nice.

Nice photos. It was about 40 years ago that I was in the Humphrey's Basin. Great area, just how I (ahem!) remember it.

Feb 8, 2015 at 12:36 pm #2172528Feb 8, 2015 at 2:56 pm #2172559I'm not consistent on bringing a camera or taking pictures, but thought I could jump in with a sampling from over the years…
Back in college (Winona State) I got bored in the dorms and decided on an open-air bivy atop the local landmark "Sugarloaf" overlooking the town.
A couple canoe country sites: sunrise on Jasper Lake and early morning fog on Argo Lake, different trips in Quetico.
Two from atop a ridge with great views toward Glacier Peak in Washington (my brother took these).
He brought the tent for him and his dog and I brought the tarp and we made a palace:
Me hauling the bear bag up the cliff in the morning:
Finally, my best campsite last summer on the Superior Hiking Trail:
…edit: just noticed that the same thrift store microfleece hat is in three photos!

Feb 20, 2015 at 1:48 pm #2176134morning in the emigrant wilderness april 2005. A little more snow that year. This campsite on top of approximately 16 feet of snow (as per official snow survey measurement close by within a few days), and with about 4" of fresh overnight.

Feb 20, 2015 at 3:26 pm #2176183That bridge looks a lot like the one over the outlet of Garnet Lake… That would be my guess.

Feb 21, 2015 at 7:17 am #2176302I think the Ministry of Tourism would pay you to take that one down, LOL!
Mar 11, 2015 at 10:27 am #2181677Here are a few pictures from recent trips:
Overnighter in YNP in late December
Anniversary trip to San Simeon last weekend
All-time favorite campsite – Glacier Point, February 2015 – had it all to ourselves
Glacier Point 2015, nice little campfire (winter only) upon arrival
Mar 12, 2015 at 5:59 pm #2182143Everybody knows this one
Mar 12, 2015 at 7:53 pm #2182165I've done lots of beautiful trips here in the Kodiak Archipelago. Here is camp #2 and #3 from one of the hikes I did across the island:
I think it's pretty cool to be high in the alpine and almost always be able to see the ocean.
Mar 13, 2015 at 10:17 am #2182264Phillip – what shelter is that?
Mar 13, 2015 at 10:41 am #2182266It was some OR singlewall shelter thing (Nighthaven?) I used for that trip, and that trip only. I hated it (too low, lots of condensation, floppy pitch) and it went away.
