I wear black pants, black socks, black shoes and even black underwear. I don't have a black shirt, but go for a dark shirt.

Not found the lower half to matter with heat in the sun. Found that with the light colour shirts I'd get sunburnt through them. More so after sweating a bit.

Temps range up to 38C (100f).

Best to be out of the sun when its really warm though; find shade.

Travel early in the day, rest during the heat in the middle, then travel again in the late afternoon.

Black is slimming :)

black underwear, bottom and top, is important for swimming opportunities.

(unless it isn't…)

+1

For the boys, too:

jockey shorts

Even more than the photo, these look like bicycle / exercise shorts but are thinner, quicker drying, cheaper and lighter. I wear them as my combo UW/shorts in hot weather. And then jump in the lake or ford the creek without stopping to change.

And, yes, I am the model in that photo. I dropped 15 pounds, got tan, and shaved all my fur just for you BPLers.

Bumping this from some pre buyer's-remose angst. Finally decided on replacement shoes (Salewa Firetail Exo GTX mids), which have the best attributes for my criteria, except: WPB, which I can't seem to avoid. Thought I'd just live with a little more sweat & boot doffings. While wearing just around the house to decide fit, it dawned. They are black, all black. I can apply the analyses above to spacing of thin socks. And I note the "no problems" by some folks in black. But un-mentioned is the difference in angle to sun between pants legs and boot toes.

Boots will have more air passing over them than any other part of the body (motion). But, given that I've already compromised by putting my feet into rubber suits, is it your experience that it will be noticeably way worse to have have them in a black rubber suits, in the sun? Worst environment will be exposed climbs, south faces, high Sierra.
