We’re not big believers in making New Years’ resolutions. For one thing, if something is that important to us, we’ll try to work on it, no matter what the date. And if it’s not that important, tying it to a calendar isn’t likely to make it matter to us more.

But we do have one resolution we are going to follow in 2015…and follow it resolutely. We are going to make, and take, more time for ourselves. We are going to spend more time in the mountains, backpacking, and seeing the parts of the world that we love so much. We aren’t getting any younger, and there is no reason to wait. We don’t need more stuff. But we would like to have more fun!

Admittedly, others feel differently. And if you have one you’d like to share, we'd love to know about it.

Thanks to this piece, I think I’ll reread the Constitution, and get better engaged, in 2015.

Getting back into the practice of getting out every month. Don't know how that slipped away.

No Soda this year. I became a pretty big Vanilla Coke Addict over this year, and my teeth and waistline both need a break.

Theoretically, not spending a few dollars a week on cokes could save me thousands of dollars in dental/medical bills over the years. Win/Win!

I can anticipate the withdrawal headache I'm going to get starting around 3pm today already, though. ugh. Just gotta stay hydrated for a week, I guess.

Wow Doug.

I adopt yours, and as an American I hope many more do the same.

Thank you.

For 2015, I've decided to take a paycut and relocate to make more time for recreation and activities I enjoy. I'm pretty excited about it, and while I've enjoyed my time in Alaska, the lure of regular 3 day weekends and returning to the West makes me happy inside.
