I am going to try and stop by on Saturday. I would certainly want a few. My brother has the stove and it has always been his favorite stove.
I assume you bought them all. :^)

I haven’t bought them all, but for $6 each, I could. I’ve seen them go for triple that on eBay.
I will bring at least a dozen.
They didn't have any of the camping gaz canisters, did they?
I would take the direct route up I-5 to I-580. I-580 joins with other interstate freeways at various points, but continues all the way to CA-101 in Marin County, very close to where Sir Francis Drake Blvd. takes off to the park. Unless there is heavy traffic this is definitely the most direct and quickest way to get up here
OK, I think you mean something like this That makes sense.
Now, the dates are listed as “Jan 29 to Feb 1, 2015”. I assume that means some people are coming up Thursday night, yes?

Yes, they did. They had the CV270 type with non-threaded connector. Old looking but serviceable. I think they were also $6.00.
As long as you avoid commute times (4pm on) that is the fastest route (5->580). You don't want to hit Castro Valley at 4pm. Google maps should help divert you around traffic if you use it on a smart phone.
I would LOVE to get several (10 if they have them). I prefer the CV470 (it is for more of a camping trip), but the 270s will work. I can't find any and will have to retire the lantern if I can't find any more. That would make my day.
I think they had CV270’s. I don’t recall seeing and CV470’s. I’ll see what I can do. Haven’t finished packing yet.
Don't take Highway 4 if you can avoid it. It really backs up. I-5 to 580 makes the most sense.
Larry,
I still have two unused CV270 that I can bring.
Manfred
David,
we live in Menlo Park. Depending on your plans and timing we could drive together on Saturday in our minivan after your visit in Palo Alto. You can also equip yourself from our gear closet with anything you might need — tent or tarp, sleeping bag or quilt, sleeping pad, backpack, stove & utensils, etc. So, no need to bring anything from Alaska.
Looking forward to see you again in person,
Manfred
David, Andrea and I will also be driving out Saturday afternoon from Palo Alto, so between Manfred and Michelle and us I'm sure you'll be set for a ride. Just let us know what your timing is like.
Looking forward to seeing y'all, old friends and new.
I will happily purchase the CV270s from you. Thanks!
I will have 15 x PowerMax ($6 each) and 8 x CV270 ($7 each) canisters.

Yes, I will be there Thursday evening and at least a few others will too. I probably won't be able to get there until about 7-8 pm, but I expect others will arrive earlier.
Outstanding, thank you! I will se you Saturday.
Manfred: Thanks, but I'll have a rental car because I'll continue on from GGG late Sunday morning to see more relatives in the East Bay. But thanks!
my site mg2 can have 4 cars but only 2 are included in the price… so $8 each for the other 2 each night… there is over flow parking for the same deal…
Not sure what MG2 means, but I will be at Sammy P within the hour.
I'm at 427-8055 in the 818 area code. Say hello when you roll in.

I am at S. P. Taylor State Park. The only name I recognize on the reservation board is that of David in site 56. I'm going to park myself there at least temporarily and will readjust as needed.

Michelle and I are back home from this year's GGG (after recharging our electric car in Fairfax while watching "Selma")
Thanks to everyone for making this another successful GGG. A special thanks to David who stepped up – without him we might not have had a GGG this year.
Thanks also to Hikin' Jim for cooking the Chicken Masala. Our daughter Hannah enjoyed it thouroughly. Btw. that Jetboil Joule was pretty impressive.
Thanks to David for coming all the way from Alaska and sharing your salmon with everyone for breakfast. That was delicious! Thanks also for bringing all the maps and the saws.
Thanks to Debbie for bringing Brownies – once again – to the GGG. Your brownies, David's salmon and Jim's chicken Masala convinced our daughter Hannah that these BPLers prepare really good backpacking food.
Thanks also to Kristen and Danny for trusting Brock to Hannah. That made her day! I hope you got a well deserved break out of it. We will hopefully hike together once again pretty soon.
Thanks to Joe and his wife Joan for hosting us this morning at their camp fire. We enjoyed the conversation.
As always it was a pleasure to talk with everyone about their gear, their trips and life in general. Angela & Jeremy it has been a long time since hiking the Skyline-to-the-Sea together. Hopefully you can make it to Henry Coe end of this month. EJ we won't fix the California school system, but I enjoy every year talking with you about it.
And finally thank you to Ken who carried the torch for such a long time and successfully created this community.
Manfred
P.S.: Larry, I still have the two CV270. Let me know if there is another chance to get them to you.
Yep! Thanks, David, for organizing, and a good tradition must continue, right? :)
It was great to see everyone! Thanks to all who cooked (*the* chicken masala!), made brownies and breakfast bars, shared an Alaskan specialty (or two. Good job smuggling past the TSA, David), shared trip stories/photos/videos (looking at you, Manfred!), and entertained by being allegedly competitive (that's you, David). Is that it? No, there was more, of course. Thank you for making it another memorable GGG.
See you all at the next one!
-Angela and Jeremy
p.s–To Manfred: hope to see you at Henry Coe! Fingers&Toes crossed.
Glad you guys had a great time.
Thank you to David for stepping up +100
Looking forward to the Post Trip Report thread with photos.
Thanks again! It was lovely meeting everyone and thanks for being so welcoming to us new folks.
Maya
Thanks to everyone who came and made the NorCal GGG 1 fun this year – but especially David Gardner, who stuck his neck out and took on the challenge!
I enjoyed seeing a few of the old faces and getting to know a few more. Always inspiring to hear what Janecontinues to get out and do, fun to hear anecdotes of Manfred's Alaska trip, see Hikin Jim's stoves, hear where EJ and Andrea may be taking off to next, and much more…lightning, magic mushroom/vampire bat cave stories…
Maya, it was great fun to hear about the PCT from your viewpoint, and share our particular gear likes and dislikes! Can't wait to hear about the CDT at next year's…
