hello. After many days of obsessing to build a wax gasification stove. I finally got one to function and wanted some feedback on how to progress it. $1 set of steel sample cups, steel wire, drain filter. inside I used an egg carton section with a cotton swab cut in half inside as a wick. it weighs 1.6oz total! boiled water without wind screen 12ish minutes.goparts

Congratulations. That's a good-looking blue flame for a wax burner. Does it leave soot on the pot?

Can you show us more about how the parts fit together? Where does the drain filter go?

upyeah! I'm having fun trying to understand it. The filter goes on top of the 2nd sample cup, acts as a pot stand and 2nd burn chamber.

I find it is nearly soot free when it has gasified the wax. The startup time is sooty and takes about 40seconds, then I can set it down (which closes it) and sends the gas up into the blue flame.

what I learned is the gasified wax leaks out of the 2nd set of holes, I would replace them onto the bottom cup and increase the amount too. Also more holes on the very top would help. The wire rig is nice for a handle, i sinched it to the top cup, the bottom cup hinges and is hard to get a full seal for pressurizing the jet.

There is one application for this that might be relevant. Sometimes a backpacker needs to fly someplace to do a backpacking trip, but you can't take any normal stove fuels onboard an airliner. However, there are two abnormal stove fuels that are permitted. One is wood and one is wax. Some places have a ban on wood campfires, but I have never heard of one that has a ban on wax.
