Lightest Bomber Tent/Shelter Options?

"Bomber" is not exactly a quantitative term, eh?

But in my view, Bomber would mean a tent that could withstand a winter storm at, say, 12,000 feet in the High Sierra. That would mean 60 or 80 mph winds and heavy snow load. In my view, that would eliminate all tarps and all 3 season tents…

… just sayin…

Thanks guys! I think you're right. My criteria for the one tent were motivated more by a small budget but for now I think I will just buy a 3 season tent and hold off on the alpine tent until completely necessary. But it does raise the question as to which 3 season tent that doesn't need to be supported by trekking poles would be best suited for me. I guess that would be a different thread though.

It's unfortunate that the truly breathable and durably waterproof wedge tents (BD Eldorado, Rab models, etc) seemingly have to be as heavy fabric-wise as they are. Weight aside, they would suit alpine-style mountaineering (where you're smart enough to not get caught in a blizzard at 12k) as well as most backpacking conditions (venting isn't ideal).
