Anybody know what is the lightest water bottle that can withstand being repeatedly filled with boiling water? I've tried gatorade type plastic bottles in the past and they only hold up for a few nights before the threads start to warp and leak. 1L capacity ideal.

Really the only type of plastic bottle that will hold up to boiling water well is an HDPE container, like the white Nalgene bottles which weigh in at just shy of 4 ounces for a 32 ounce.
You're other option would be some type of metal bottle. As always, Titanium is light and really expensive.
Stainless Steel
$13, 8 ounces weight, 20 ounces capacity
These seem like a good compromise between weight, ease of filling and sturdy threads.
Have a look at the Sigg or a knock-off.
Take a look here :

to get a better idea of how the various Nalgene products perform.
(impact/odour resistance /temperature range)
They work fine. Last pretty good. But talk about a game of hot potato!
If you like stainless steel, I latched onto some SS water bottles with hard plastic screw cap. The volume is 24 ounces. They were at the Dollar Store, so $1 each.
