I'm a big fan of Zpacks, thought he price tag scares me. Having read your comparison, I'm now that much closer to pulling the trigger, even though I have perfectly good 35, 20, and 0 degree bags and don't really NEED a quilt!

I have – and use – several quilts of the former, and have seen/heard/read numerous accounts of satisfied customers of the latter.

It's not about listing them all. Just a comparison between popular models. No Arrowhead Equipment and a host of others. So what?

I have seen many comparisons like this trying to compare quilts side by side to see which is best. This is the most complete list ive seen but it doesn't take into consideration the different actual size of what each company calls a Regular. I have complied a similar list as this keeps driving me crazy explaining to people how much bigger our Reg/Reg is than say a Warbonnet Regular *which is 6" narrower than our Regular. The list I have complied shows all the quilts i could think of from cottage companies and how they compare to our Reg/Reg quilts. You will see you have to buy a Long/Wide from many companies to get our coverage, so of course our Regular is heavier than their regular but its better to compare the weights, cost and features of quilts similar in size, not just name.

Also on the list you made it says we don't do custom, that is definitely not the case. We customize our quilts for people all the time. Also the weight listed for our Revelations don't match our current product pages.

First of all, thank you for your valuable comments. Enlightened Equipment quilts are one of best ones and are much respected (I personally want to order one as my next quilt for upcoming winter). Also, I'm not trying to show best quilts. I did this side-by-side comparison to make the decisions easy. I'm sorry if I missed something. Most probably the data in my tables is outdated. I'll update it with newer one.

Regarding size, I'm not comparing blindly reg to reg. I'm calculating area and then calculate fill weight to area ratio. This metric is generic for whatever quilt of whatever size, I believe it is correct and provides meaningful data. The size itself (length, 3 widths at foot, hips, shoulders) present in the table. I hope it was fair in this regard.

It is great you are making custom orders! I was sure you don't! I think I have even a mail from you where you say you don't make custom mods.

Again, I'm sorry for any mismatch I did. I'll correct it. Thank you for your feedback and keep making amazing quilts! What I love about your quilts is that you are constantly improving them. Not many quilt makers redesign their work at that rate.

No worries Greg. I just day in day out have people asking why my quilts are heavier. Its crazy, cause they're not. They're just bigger so I wanted to be sure to point out how all makers have basically the same size quilt 78"x55" +/- but they use so many names to describe that size that I seldom see the same physical dimensions compared but instead see the same labels (Regular ) compared.

I'm sure the weights you posted are based on our Revelation weights before we updated the sheet since they were coming in under weight for months.

I've been looking for someplace to jump in and make that point, you just opened the door for me;)

As far as custom stuff if I rejected a request it may have just been not possible or maybe it was April or May when we were slammed with orders but normally we can accommodate. We try to steer people away from overstuff but can be talked into it.

Now, I have updated the weights and custom orders indicators. As for the fill weight, there was no change, so is it a different fabrics you use now?

The weight change wasn't the result of a change to the product but it changed as we noticed they were coming in light every time. I re did the math and confirmed based on measured weights of finished quilts.

The Prodigy reg/reg 40*F, 10D all-round, that I ordered from you folks a couple of months ago was listed in your specs as 19.72 oz, but it actually weighs 17.77 oz on my digital scale!

And yes, the size is adequate. I'm physically pretty much the definition of "medium" and it is sized right in every respect.

I looked at dims when I pulled the trigger on mine. I didn't buy just on weight and I was comparing it with the MLD quilt. I figure you are all using the same materials. It comes down to service, having the options to order the size I want and the reputation for quality and service.

You won on all counts Tim.

Prodigy weights fluctuate a lot. We try to keep our numbers on the higher side of average. Every roll from CLIMASHIELD fluctuates across the roll on density and weight. As far as we can tell its not affecting the warmth but it makes posting a weight tough.

I'm sure MLD makes a great quilt, it blows my mind though how small their sizes are. I sell a lot of wide quilts and they're not even offering bigger sizes. Better me I guess ;)
