Eh, I don't think it's outrageously priced when compared to other 750ml bottles. Short of repurposing a 24oz soda or water bottle, you won't find many bottles from "reputable" brands for less than $15.

I'm happy with Platy bottles, but there's just something about rigid bottles that I prefer. Having a collapsible rigid bottle that isn't a piece of junk (a la accordion-style "bottles") seems pretty nice to me.

I emailed Hydrapak and asked for a weight, we'll see if they get back to me.

I'd buy a few if they aren't too heavy and if a steripen fits through the opening.

From Hydropak….

The 750ml Stash Bottle weighs 65 grams.

That's roughly half the weight of a Nalgene of similar volume.
I like it, especially if you want to secure your bottle to your pack when coming on scrambling sections. Also like you can collapse them. I've been using soda litre bottles which are cheaper and lighter but don't collapse down obviously. For some trips I think it could be useful.

Pretty cool idea for those who don't care for platypus bottles.

Always like to see innovation on old ideas.

"I'd buy a few if they aren't too heavy and if a steripen fits through the opening."

They're advertising the lid for the Stash at 43mm. If my google-fu serves, I believe Nalgene bottles are 63mm.

Does anyone know if the hydro flasks can be connected to a Sawyer filter?

"Does anyone know if the hydro flasks can be connected to a Sawyer filter?"

You'd have to find an adapter with the correct threads. The Stash is 43mm and the Sawyer is closer to 28mm or so.

"Having a collapsible rigid bottle that isn't a piece of junk "

These are not rigid, nor do they act like they are when drinking out of them. They are still floppy.

Yes I have seen them with my own eyes, while holding them in my hands

I'll stick with my 500ml Nalgene.

If they are not rigid and you need a nalgene (for example to tether to pack) might as well take one nalgene of preferred size and the rest of your water in platypus/evernew etc.

I carry a couple of Evernew 2 liter bottles to work with my Sawyer. Dirty water in soft bottles. I drink out of the rigid Nalgene.

Thanks Ken! Good to know they're not really very rigid at all. Guess I'll stick with a Platy bottle!

Platy 1 liter = 25g
Gatorade 20 oz = 33g
AquaMira A+B+mix = 21g

79 grams for water containers and treatment is hard to beat.
