no… I was thinking of starting a trip solo and meeting up with a gal that likes big jerky with lots of fat….
Billy
If by "gal" you mean a marmot with a loose set of morals and who's down to party then I completely believe you.
I know. I really should stop stereotyping marmots.
You seem to have marmots on the brain Ian…. hmmm… wat chew bin doin' them long nites Ian????
Billy
Whoa Nelly. No need to deflect your marmotphilia onto me Billy. We are an inclusive group here at BPL and we accept you just the way you are.
Au contraire, Ian.
Something very Freudian about your marmot post.
Billy
Well the good news is that you are packing your used condoms out. Very LNT of you.
Well, Ian… not sure what LNT means… but why leave them behind when they can be recycled :)
Billy
Hahahaha
A 26 inch axe with a 1.75lb head makes me happy.
But not that useful/practical outside of deep winter camping.
"Well, Ian… not sure what LNT means"
For you, it seems it means long nights touching- on your solo trips…..
And here all this time I thought LNT meant Leave No Trojan !
I sure learn a ton here on BPL…

Baby wipes! Freaking baby wipes! I use them for number 2 time. But mist importantly wiping down when camp after a long day of hiking. They make me feel like a new person. Of course, I use the flushable ones.
I like the comfort of sitting in my hammock to cook, instead of sitting on a slightly padded rock or log. At night, I can lay in my hammock for 12-14 hours in a snow storm without any discomfort from sore hips or shoulders. Can't say that about laying on the ground.
The hammock is not noticeably extra comfortable at any given time, like a recliner is. The hammock is just consistently comfortable for as long as I've ever laid in it. At the finish, it is just as good as at the start.
I like the way my ULA packs carry water weight into drier areas. As someone else mentioned about crampons, the solitude is better there.
I like my Fancee Feest clone stove for its thoughtful, simple design and easy use. Often simple is more difficult to design than not. To me, getting water to boil is not a twice a day, timed race, with winners and losers. Light enough and good enough is all that I need from a stove.
18 yr. old single malt scotch…don't leave home without it…
