Hi guys, I am keen to throw together a solar charger for my samsungS4. Has anyone dabled in DIY solar charger projects that can give me some helpful hints or kindly point me in the right direction.

There are others if you search for MYOG Solar
Not into Solar projects myself, but a good friend fried his HTC when charging it from his MYOG Solar panel.
Test it carefully before using it on the S4. Perhaps it would be better to start charging a battery instead.
Anyway, one of the common problems is unstable voltage which causes the mobile phone to constantly switch into and from charging mode, resulting in depletion of the battery.
From my experience designated chargeable batteries handle this better.
